Hello there!  My name is Phil Eckersley, I am the Chairman of UKIP Manchester and the Co-Chair of UKIP Greater Manchester Region.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and introduce you to the UKIP Manchester branch.

I first joined UKIP in 2013 after feeling that none of the other Parties represented me or what I believed in.  I am also, of course, a Eurosceptic, which was a further draw to join UKIP.  For me, the Party has a much broader view than just

that of exiting the EU, it represents people in our Country who are patriots, who want the best for our Country, who want British values and the British way of life to be maintained and strengthened, to have our laws and only our laws, based on Habeus Corpus, to be the law of the land.

I want to live in a Country that rewards hard work and encourages people to become productive and positive contributors to the economy and the civilised society in which we live.  I believe in independence from stifling over-taxation, independence from crippling over-regulation and the freedom for people to pursue and reach their true potential through an education system that rewards and promotes excellence.

We established UKIP Manchester in 2014 with a small group of committed UKIPers who could see the need for UKIP representation in Manchester.  Since then we have grown strongly over the past years and have had some fantastic election performances, with a victory at the 2014 EU Parliament elections, numerous 2nd places against Labour in local elections and 2nd place in the Manchester Central constituency in the 2015 General Election.  From this strong backdrop of performances, we need more people to stand as candidates to afford people the opportunity at election times to put their cross in support of UKIP at the ballot box.

If you live in Manchester Central, Manchester Gorton or Manchester Withington areas then please do get in touch.  You are more than welcome to contact me at ukipmanchester@gmail.com with any questions, I am also more than happy to speak with you over the phone about our upcoming meetings and how you can get involved, whether it be donations or helping with campaigning.  We cannot win elections without foot soldiers, if you can spare just 1 hour a month it would go hugely towards our battle to kick Labour out of Manchester Town Hall!

UKIP Manchester is dedicated to bringing the People's Party to the hard working people of the North West.  We have placed second in many of the local election seats we have contested.  We will be spending the coming months and years striving to get our first UKIP Manchester Councillor elected.
